Last harvest of the year at Lavender Lane

February 1, 2011 § Leave a comment

In the middle of winter now. Looking back a few months to a more colorful memory. By now the last of the potatoes, shallots, and onions that I received from this farm have long since been eaten. But I still have a few biodynamic goodies that I can use through the more monochromatic months. The amazingly fragrant lemon grass in my spice drawer is one example. Dried peppers are another. I remembered these images the other day while I was making Kheer (Indian Rice Pudding) and was so happy to be able to include some dried fennel seeds from flowers that had been gathered fresh on the day I took these photographs.
